As part of our commitment to ending tuberculosis (TB) in Nigeria, the Wilfred Healthcare Foundation conducted a TB awareness and screening outreach at the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Gembu.
During the outreach, inmates and staff received health education on tuberculosis, its symptoms, prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Individuals with symptoms suggestive of TB were screened, and sputum samples were collected for laboratory testing to facilitate early detection and ensure access to free treatment for anyone diagnosed with TB.
Together, we can achieve a TB-free Nigeria. Let us continue to support the #EndTB campaign by promoting awareness, encouraging early testing, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
