Nguroje, Sardauna Local Government Area, Taraba State – As part of its ongoing free medical outreach programme across Nguroje town, the Wilfred Healthcare Foundation (WHF) paid a courtesy visit to the Lamido of Nguroje, HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Mbah, to strengthen ties with the traditional institution and extend healthcare services to members of the Traditional Council.
The visit, which took place at the Lamido’s palace, was a significant highlight of the Foundation’s medical mission in the area. It underscored WHF’s recognition of the critical role traditional rulers play in community development, health advocacy, and mobilizing residents for public health interventions. The Foundation’s team, led by its Executive Director, was warmly received by the Lamido and his council members.
During the visit, the WHF team provided free medical services to members of the Traditional Council, including health screenings, blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, and consultations for various ailments. Council members who required further attention were referred for additional care, and essential medications were dispensed free of charge.
Speaking during the visit, the Executive Director of WHF emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to promoting quality healthcare for all, particularly in rural and underserved communities across Taraba State. He noted that engaging traditional leaders is essential to the success of health interventions, as they serve as gatekeepers and influential voices in their communities.
“We believe that no one should be left behind when it comes to access to healthcare,” the Executive Director stated. “Our visit to the Lamido and the Traditional Council is a demonstration of our respect for traditional institutions and our desire to work hand-in-hand with them to improve the health and well-being of the people of Nguroje and beyond.”
The Lamido of Nguroje, HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Mbah, expressed profound gratitude to the Foundation for the initiative and for remembering the traditional institution in its outreach. He commended WHF for its dedication to community health and pledged the continued support of the Traditional Council in mobilizing residents for future health programmes.

The free medical outreach, which attracted hundreds of residents from Nguroje and neighbouring communities, provided a wide range of services including general consultations, malaria testing, tuberculosis screening, eye checks, and distribution of essential medicines. The programme also featured health education sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
Community members who benefited from the outreach praised WHF for bringing healthcare directly to their doorstep and called for more frequent interventions of this nature. Many noted that the presence of the Foundation in Nguroje had brought renewed hope for better health outcomes in the area.
